Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic singer, composer and performer. He combines jazz from the soul genre with R&B to create a unique mix. The singer's career has taken her all over the world, from Broadway to European festivals and clubs up to at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine's real the name of Denise White. Although she is based in Atlanta, her roots are located in Chester Pennsylvania. There she started to pursue the musical profession by singing and playing the piano in a church. Her musical career began in Atlanta at Spellman College. The year 2005 saw Tyler Perry hired her as the principal keyboardist on his stage play Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award winner) approached her for an opportunity to be the director of the choral section of Dreamgirls in Atlanta for the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine received national attention through her performances on four consecutive days at the Democratic National Convention. She was later invited to sing in the Obama administration's 2008 inauguration.
