Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American television chef and an former Institute of Culinary Education instructor She is also a television personality. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her famous spiky blonde hair and pumped-up persona on the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, shares straightforward and simple techniques for home cooks. Chef Burrell studied and worked in the best New York restaurants. He was also a part of Iron Chef America and the culinary landscape of Italy. Early on, while growing up in New York's upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. After earning an English and Communication degree in Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her passion for the restaurant business by enrolling as a student at The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America was an amazing opportunity for me. It was impossible to learn how to do, or even work hard enough. After graduating Chef Burrell was in Italy for a year, attending classes at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Additionally, she worked at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin starred restaurant) located in Tuscany. It was during this time that her experience in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate Italian philosophy and culture, and this has left an impression on her culinary perspective. Burrell participates on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens up the lives of struggling children. Burrell is also a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Advocate, where she promotes awareness of young diabetics. In her capacity as a guest speaker and mentor Burrell travels throughout the US to talk about her culinary passion and career. Anne has stated throughout her professional career that she feels so fortunate to have the opportunity to share with others what is most important for her.
